What to Expect: A welcoming and safe environment for learning and community building. The workshop location is located just off of a public bus line and is wheelchair accessible. Each day will be made up of a combination of discussion around Place-Based Building; the use of building materials and traditions that are relative to a given place, and timber framing as an example of this in Vermont; as well as lots of hands-on learning as we introduce tools, tool maintenance and cut our own timber frame market stand. Students can also anticipate informal conversations around how to make the building trades more inclusive, the intersection of building, agriculture and the environment, women’s empowerment, cross-cultural building techniques and whatever else you might bring to the table!
